One Good Movie - Killdozer

A weekly newsletter for movie lovers with taste but not much time.

Hi friend,

On Tuesday, I ventured through Granby, Colorado.

If you’re not familiar with Granby, it’s situated near fantastic skiing and beautiful lakes.

It’s also where Marvin Heemeyer unleashed his killdozer.

On Friday, June 4, 2004, Heemeyer used a modified bulldozer to enact revenge against local officials and the press.

In 2019, Paul Solet premiered his documentary about the incident.

It’s a tale of a white man with grudges.

And a plan.

The slow, deliberate roll of the dozer is deeply comic and also an apt, and unsubtle metaphor for death.

89 minutes.

The Venice Film Festival started last week, and there’s been an influx of trailers hitting the interwebs.
